Find UAV — privacy policy
What Find UAV on theacademia.cloud collects, why, who else sees it, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted.
Who is responsible
Academia Tech is responsible for the data described here. Contact: support@theacademia.tech.
What we collect
Your account: the licence key you sign in with. Find UAV does not ask for your name, and asks for an email address only in the feedback window, where it is optional.
What you upload and enter: the drone video, the search area (a centre point and a radius) and the lane you choose.
What the service produces: the estimated track and last position, small preview frames along the track, and the processing status.
Credits and purchases: your credit balance and history; for each purchase the order number, pack, amount, status and the email address you gave at checkout, as Creem reports them to us. We never receive or store card details.
Feedback: what you write in the feedback window, the email address you leave for a reply and, if you attach it, which analysis it is about. It is stored with your account and emailed to the Find UAV team.
API keys: stored only as a one-way hash.
Technical records: our web server logs requests (IP address, browser, time, address requested) to keep the service running and secure.
Why we use it
To run the analyses you request and show you their results; to keep your credit balance and process purchases and refunds; to answer support requests; and to keep the service secure and prevent abuse. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, or use your videos to train models.
Who else receives data
Amazon Web Services (cloud storage and servers, EU region): stores uploaded videos and runs the service.
Our GPU processing provider (Modal): receives small image crops cut from your video when an analysis uses it — not the video itself and not your account.
Satellite imagery provider: receives requests for map tiles of the search area, so it learns which area was searched — not your video or your account.
Creem (creem.io): handles payments as merchant of record and processes the details you enter at checkout under its own privacy policy.
Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Uploaded videos: deleted from cloud storage within 14 days of upload, or at once when you delete the analysis in History; the copy a processing server uses for an analysis is deleted when the analysis ends.
Results and preview frames: kept in your History until you delete them there or ask us to; preview frames are removed from the processing server after 30 days.
Purchase records: kept as long as accounting and tax law requires.
Feedback: kept until you ask us to delete it.
Server logs: rotated and deleted routinely.
Cookies
The site uses only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a security (CSRF) cookie. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, for corrections, or for deletion of your videos, results or your whole Find UAV history — write to support@theacademia.tech and quote your licence key. We answer within 30 days.
You can also complain to the data-protection authority: in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
Changes
This policy can change; the date at the top says when it last did. A material change is shown on the Find UAV page before it applies.
