Find UAV Beta
Find where a drone flew from its own video. Upload the video, mark roughly where the flight was, and get the track on a satellite map — from the pictures alone, no GPS needed.
How it works
- 1Upload the drone's video. Any length; it goes straight to cloud storage.
- 2Mark the search area — a point on the map and a radius (up to 20 km).
- 3Get the track. The service matches the video against satellite imagery and shows the estimated flight path, the last position and its accuracy; export it as GPX, KML or CSV. Every analysis stays in your history.
Takes day colour video from a downward (nadir) camera, such as the video from a StabX flight record, or from FPV goggles (beta). Thermal video is not supported yet. Results are estimates, not a navigation or safety system.
What it is for
- Your own drone. See where it flew and the last point before the video ended — where to start looking for it.
- Intercepted video. Intercepted the video feed of another drone? Find where it flew.
Live and API
- Live. Stream the drone's camera while it flies; the track updates as it goes, over WebSocket or WebRTC.
- API. Run Find UAV from your own software with an API key from your account: uploads and results over REST. Analyses through the API use the same credits.
Credits
Analyses are paid in credits. The price is shown before you start: 1 credit per 10 km² of search area + 1 credit per 2 minutes of video; the Fast lane costs ×3. For example, a 10-minute video in a 3 km circle costs 8 credits.
- Every account gets 100 free credits each month.
- If an analysis fails or the flight cannot be found in the area, its credits are returned automatically.
- Buying credits is not open yet. It opens once enough people tell us Find UAV works for them.
