Terms of use
The terms you agree to when you use ACADEMIA Link. Short, because the important parts are few.
What this software is for
Link is for operating drones you own or are authorised to operate. It configures aircraft, installs builds on them, and manages the licences those builds are used under.
You are responsible for flying legally. Airspace rules, permissions and the consequences of a flight are yours, not ours — the software will not stop you doing something a regulator would object to.
Licences and seats
A licence key has a number of seats. Installing a build on an aircraft that is not yet registered spends one, and it stays spent: a seat is tied to that aircraft.
An aircraft already registered costs nothing to install on again, whichever licence it was registered under.
Keys are for your own aircraft. Sharing a key outside your organisation is what a licence is precisely not.
Installing builds
Installing replaces the software on an aircraft. An interrupted or wrong install can leave a drone unflyable until a working build is installed again, and Link cannot promise a build will suit your airframe.
Install on the ground. Never while an aircraft is armed or in the air.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself and your workspace's licence keys within your organisation. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
Tell us at support@theacademia.tech if you think somebody else has access to it.
Availability and warranty
The licence server is needed to install builds and manage licences. It can be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
The software is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is free of faults, and we are not liable for loss of or damage to an aircraft, its payload, or a flight — which is the ordinary bargain for software that controls machinery you own and operate.
Changes
These terms and the privacy notice can change. The date at the top says when they last did, and a material change will be told to you in the application.
